fMusic as a Pro Tools Extension

With Pro Tools 2026.10, fMusic is also available as a Pro Tools Extension: the same Import, Organize and Export, running inside Pro Tools instead of as a separate application. The Extension and the desktop app share the same account and the same plan, so nothing changes in what you pay for; what changes is where fMusic lives.

Where to find it

  • In Pro Tools 2026.10 or later, open the Extensions panel, or pick Extensions from the menu bar. fMusic is listed there as its own Extension; fPost is a separate one.
  • Pro Tools sends you to Avid's Extensions page to download the installer.
  • The same installer is on forte-ai.com, on the fMusic Extension download page, and the fMusic Extension page explains the whole thing.

Full window or side tab

The Extension adapts to two views. The full window is the default and shows the same screens as the desktop app: the editor, Import setup, the prints list. The narrow side tab stays beside your session for the quick jobs, so the timeline keeps the room. Switch between the two whenever you like; nothing is lost in between.

Free, trial and paid

  • First run: a free trial with every feature and unlimited capacity. No account is needed to start.
  • Always free: the Visualizer. Open any session and see how fMusic would prep, organize or export it, as often as you like.
  • After the trial, without a plan: 2 imports or organizes and 2 exports a month. The limit is the final step, not the number of tracks or prints, so a run started by mistake does not use up the chance to test.
  • With a plan: the fMusic plans, Studio or Suite, monthly, yearly or Lifetime, at the same prices as the app. Organize is part of Suite, as in the app.

Already an fMusic customer? Sign in with the account you have: the Extension is included in your plan. It works the other way round too: a plan bought from the Extension unlocks the fMusic desktop app. The two are the same product.

Requirements

  • Pro Tools 2026.10 or later, with its interface set to English
  • macOS 13.5 (Ventura) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel

Recognition and processing run on your Mac, as in the desktop app. Nothing is uploaded. The minimum requirements of the app apply otherwise.
