Getting Started
fPost as a Pro Tools Extension
With Pro Tools 2026.10, fPost is also available as a Pro Tools Extension: the same AAF import, classification, template matching and session reorganization, running inside Pro Tools instead of as a separate application. The Extension and the desktop app share the same account and the same plan; what changes is where fPost lives.
Where to find it
- In Pro Tools 2026.10 or later, open the Extensions panel, or pick Extensions from the menu bar. fPost is listed there as its own Extension; fMusic is a separate one.
- Pro Tools sends you to Avid's Extensions page to download the installer.
- The same installer is on forte-ai.com, on the fPost Extension download page, and the fPost Extension page explains the whole thing.
Full window or side tab
The Extension adapts to two views. The full window is the default and shows the same screens as the desktop app: the Visualizer, import settings, template matching. The narrow side tab stays beside your session for the quick jobs, so the timeline keeps the room. Switch between the two whenever you like.
Free, trial and paid
- First run: a free trial with every feature and unlimited capacity. No account is needed to start.
- Always free: the Visualizer. Drop any AAF or open any session and see how fPost would build it, as often as you like. AAF Checker stays free too.
- After the trial, without a plan: 2 imports or organizes a month. The limit is the final step, not the number of clips, so a run started by mistake does not use up the chance to test.
- With a plan: the fPost plans, Studio or Suite, monthly, yearly or Lifetime, or Enterprise for facilities, at the same prices as the app. Multi-AAF import and the splitter are part of Suite, as in the app.
Already an fPost customer? Sign in with the account you have: the Extension is included in your plan. It works the other way round too: a plan bought from the Extension unlocks the fPost desktop app. The two are the same product.
Requirements
- Pro Tools 2026.10 or later, with its interface set to English
- macOS 13.5 (Ventura) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel
Classification and processing run on your Mac, as in the desktop app. Nothing is uploaded. The minimum requirements of the app apply otherwise.
